Law Programs

Ivanhoe Extend Law programs involve learning opportunities and competitions that are based on Law, including advocacy, knowledge of the law and courtroom procedures.

Bond University Moot

In teams of 2-3 students, Year 11-12 students participate in a simulated courtroom discussion. Moots involve analysing a legal problem, researching laws and associated cases and presenting arguments to a judge through dialogue.

Skills and qualities:Ivanhoe Learner Attributes: ethical, reflective, courageous, balanced, collaborative, compassionate and innovative.

General qualities: legal knowledge, research, critical thinking, communication skills, advocacy skills, teamwork and collaboration, writing and structuring arguments.

Melbourne Interschool Mooting Competition

The Melbourne Interschool Mooting Competition is a competition hosted by Ivanhoe Grammar School. The moot requires Year 8-12 students to advocate for an appeal against the original ruling of a case or for, maintaining the original ruling to a judge.
