Giving

A rich tradition of giving at Ivanhoe Grammar School can be traced back to 1919 when Reverend Sydney Buckley’s vision of expanding the School from a small one of 37 students, created in 1915, led to the purchase of the site on which the School now stands. This purchase would not have been made possible without the generosity of both the Diocesan Board and friends of the School. Since that time, a strong tradition of generosity for the benefit of future generations of Ivanhoe students has become an important part of the culture at Ivanhoe.

A robust and well supported philanthropic program is vital for keeping Ivanhoe at the fore-front of independent schooling. Philanthropic support allows the School to confidently invest in students, first-class facilities and resources that enhance the Ivanhoe experience for all students. Every gift, no matter the size, is valued and makes a difference.

There are several ways you can actively support current and future students of Ivanhoe.

Scholarships – an investment that lasts a lifetime

Ivanhoe Grammar School has a long history of providing scholarship opportunities for deserving students in order to experience an Ivanhoe education, regardless of their financial circumstances. Continued philanthropic support will provide greater access to benefit more students.

“My experiences as an Ivanhoe Grammarian have left me feeling fulfilled, educated and accomplished. As soon as I walked through the gates, I was proud to be part of the culture and represent the school and the values it stands for.

I have been enriched through the experiences and opportunities that were available, both academic and in the co-curricular program. Thank you again for your great generosity. (Norma Marsh Scholar 2022)

Building Fund – support capital projects to build on our strong foundations

As Ivanhoe Grammar School continues to evolve, facilities play a pivotal role in the delivery of first-class learning experiences. Inspiring learning spaces, multi-purpose communal areas and leading-edge sporting facilities need to be created, maintained and improved. Philanthropic support ensures the realisation of future projects.

Construction of the Sports and Aquatic Centre at Ridgeway Campus is complete, there are future improvements in the planning stage for the facilities at Ridgeway Campus, Plenty Campus and Buckley House. As a result, new opportunities exist to support these projects.
