Interschool Hosting

Each year Ivanhoe Grammar School hosts several interschool extension programs. More information will become available for 2027 programs.

Secondary Year Programs

Model United Nations
This is an opportunity for students to learn about international relations, the UN system and important global issues. In an engaging and dynamic environment, students develop negotiation, conflict resolution and public speaking skills.

BrainSTEM Schools Challenge
This program for Year 8 and 9 students aims to tackle some of the most pressing global issues using the UN Sustainable Development Goals. An opportunity to work with peers from other schools, develop design thinking and problem-solving skills, and learn from industry experts.

Melbourne Interschool Moots
These are designed to give students exposure to mooting (courtroom discussion with a judge about the ruling of a case) in both competitive and non-competitive formats. A wonderful opportunity for students to learn through practice and feedback.

Thriving Minds
Thriving Minds conferences with Julie Arliss (Oxford University) give participants the opportunity to engage in deep thinking, learning and discussion about complex and significant philosophical ideas.

Primary Years Program

Chess
Students participate in a seven-round chess tournament run by Northern Star Chess. These tournaments provide students with the opportunity to qualify for State Semi Finals and Girls State Finals each year.

G.A.T.E.WAYS EUREKA
A single day enrichment program for students nominated by their teacher. The program focuses on critical and creative thinking, and students participate in two workshops based on a theme.
