General Excellence

General Excellence Award For Entry into Year 7 2024 or Year 10, 2024

Applications for the General Excellence Award for entry into Year 7 and Year 10 2026 will open mid November 2024.

This Award is open to all students, including currently enrolled Ivanhoe Grammar School students.

General Excellence Awards acknowledge high academic potential, demonstrated leadership skills, citizenship qualities, community service experience and a particular talent in one or more of the following areas: music, sport, visual arts or performing arts.

General Excellence Awards offer a reduction of up to 50% of the tuition fees, for the duration of the student’s secondary education. All other fees and charges are payable in full. Once applications close, students may be invited to the School for an interview. The School will be in contact to arrange the interview time.

A non-refundable registration fee of $125 is payable at the time of application and is completed as part of the online application.

The following documents are required in support of the General Excellence Award application. Please have these ready to upload via the online application form:

  • Two written references
  • Most recent school report
  • For students applying for the Year 7 2025 General Excellence Award – Year 5 2023 Naplan results (Exceeding and Strong category results only will be considered)
  • For students applying for the Year 10 2025 General Excellence Award – Year 7 2022 Naplan results (Exceeding and Strong category results only will be considered)
  • A recent photo
  • Payment of the application fee

In addition to the above documentation, you will fill in additional information on your child’s interest and achievements in the following areas:

  • Leadership
  • Community Service
  • Music
  • Sport
  • Performing Arts
  • Creative Arts
