Aquatics Manager

Working Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.30pm this is a rare opportunity join the Ivanhoe Campus and work in our brand new multi-level Sports & Aquatic Centre which includes a 50-metre, 8 lanes wide fully FINA accredited Olympic sized swimming pool.
The Aquatics Manager manages the programming of the aquatic centre facilities and operations including developing the Swim School program and leading the team to deliver aquatic programs to our students, ensuring high quality water, venue presentation and maintenance of the facility.
The Aquatics Manager is responsible for ensuring that the School delivers safe, innovative and productive swimming lessons by maintaining, a solid understanding of the Swim and Survive program, industry developments and the OH&S guidelines applicable to the facility.
About you
- This role requires the essential knowledge and expertise in Aquatic Facilities, Swimming and Water Safety
- Substantial, demonstrated experience in aquatic event management, swim coaching and managing a Swim School
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Sports Science, Recreation, Business Management or a related discipline
- Previous experience of staff management, including recruitment, induction, rostering, training and performance
- Ability to manage the planning, programming and delivery of safe, quality swim programs
- Oversees the management of the aquatics team to ensure compliance with minimum health standards in terms of water chemistry, treatment, filtration, heating systems and associated equipment.

Lifeguard (casual)

We seek a casual Lifeguard that will be responsible for the supervision of all people within the aquatic environment to maintain a safe environment. The role is responsible for the safety and experience of all our patrons.
The Lifeguard will be confident, calm, engaging and personable; providing clear direction to all patrons to ensure the aquatic environment is operating safely and that patrons adhere to acceptable behaviour standards. The incumbent will have the highest levels of awareness to pre-empt any potential issues that may arise.
This role requires the essential knowledge and expertise in Aquatic Facilities and Water Safety.
We seek a candidate available immediately for 2-4 hours shifts across the week Monday – Friday.
About you
To succeed you will have or be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- The ability to administer First Aid and provide leadership in the case of an emergency
- Have previous experience working in an Aquatics area as a Lifeguard under the principles of best practice and safe pool operations
- Ensure the aquatic facilities are well maintained and setup for bookings
- Act as a Warden in the event of an emergency or evacuation
- Monitor and maintain swimming pool water quality
- Provide effective supervision of pool and pool surrounds
- Assist user groups with the management of equipment, event set up and pack up
- Provide immediate First Aid to patrons as required
- Maintain vigilant oversight of the security of the Aquatic facilities with particular attention to unauthorised access to pool deck
- A current Working With Children Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
- Qualified and Fully Accredited Pool Lifeguard – SISSS00111
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR
