Peter Rule Sports Scholarship
Peter Rule Sports Scholarship
Ivanhoe Grammar School is proud to offer the Peter Rule Sports Scholarship.
Peter Rule (’65) attended Ivanhoe Grammar School from 1958 to 1965. As a student, he developed his skills and passion for athletics, competing in the AGSV, State and National competitions in a range of fields including sprinting, hurdles, pole vault and jumping. After leaving school, he was closely involved with the Ivanhoe Harriers Club and served as an athletics coach at the School from 1986 until the final year of his life.
After Peter passed away in 2023, his family fulfilled his wish to establish an incredible legacy at the School, establishing The Peter Rule Sports Scholarship, which provides 50% tuition for two Ivanhoe Grammar students who demonstrate excellence in sport. The scholarship was announced in 2025 to coincide with the opening of the Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre and extended sports precinct at Plenty Campus.
The Rule family has a longstanding connection to the School. Peter’s brother, Ian Rule (’67), served as Head of Plenty Campus from 1990 to 1998 and is a Life Governor of the School.
The scholarship is awarded to students entering Year 10, who demonstrate excellence in sport and is open to both current Ivanhoe Grammar School students and those seeking entry to the School.
The next opportunity to apply will open in 2027 for a 2028 enrolment commencement. For information about the availability of this scholarship, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@ivanhoe.com.au
