Year 9 Journey – Bali

As part of the Year 9 program, students are provided with the opportunity to travel to a number of international destinations and become immersed in a different culture.

A group of 15 students and teachers departed Melbourne on Saturday 7 March for an unforgettable experience in Bali.

Initially the group stayed in the mountainous region of Ubud and travelled to the far North and South of the island, visiting the main tourist attractions and learning about the Balinese way of life. During their visits to a number of beautiful temples, students gained an appreciation and understanding of the importance of spirituality and gratitude in the Balinese culture.

The next eight days will be based at the Green Camp which provided a stimulating program of varying activities designed to foster learning in four key areas: environmental awareness, personal development and team building, cultural connections and adventure-based challenges. Upon arriving at the Green Camp, the students were required to hand over their phones enabling each student to fully attend to the group activities and focus on each other.
