World’s Greatest Shave

The School got behind the World’s Greatest Shave and raised money for this worthy cause. Every day 34 Australians are diagnosed with a form of Blood Cancer and the funds raised through the World’s Greatest Shave go directly towards supporting families affected by blood cancers and funding vital research to try and beat these terrible diseases.

There were a myriad of ways for people to get involved and fundraise on the day. People could have their head shaved by one of the professional hairdressers, have their hair coloured, sponsor someone involved and there was also a $2 entry fee to watch the event.

Year 12 student, Georgia Sanders raised $1,550 for the World’s Greatest Shave (Leukaemia Foundation), which was an amazing effort. Georgia cut off her pony tail which was 30cm long and donated it to make a wig for a child suffering from cancer.

Further details of other students and their amounts raised, including the team total will be announced shortly.

A big thank you to the brave students and teachers who had their heads shaved, cut and dyed for Shave for a Cure. It was all made possibile with the help of the Charities Committee.
