Winter Wind Up

Girls' Netball

Despite going down by four goals to Caulfield Grammar School on the weekend, the girls’ netball team secured the coveted APS/AGSV Netball Premiership by one point over fellow AGSV school, Assumption College. This was the School’s first ever netball premiership and comes on the back of our first ever APS/AGSV premiership in softball in 2013.

Congratulations to all the girls and a special ‘thank you’ and congratulations to our Head Coach, Julie Hibberd.

Boys’ Football Team

In spite of a gallant effort by our football team, we unfortunately fell nine points short against a strong Assumption College. In front of a large crowd, the boys missed a few opportunities early on and unfortunately left their best football to the last quarter. Congratulations to all the boys who represented the school during the year, and to 1st XV111 coach, Roger Gill. This was the first time in 51 years that the school had finished in an outright top two position, so overall it was a great effort considering the School’s past results.

Girls’ Soccer and Basketball Teams

The girls’ soccer team had a good win over a strong Caulfield Grammar to finish third overall. Given the team only had one loss for the year, this was a fantastic achievement and augurs well for the future. Congratulations to all the girls and to our coach Andy Fry and the Teacher in Charge, Julia Scanlon.

The girls’ basketball team finished the season on a high with a close fought win against Haileybury. With so many youngsters in the team, they are certainly striving for higher honours next year! Congratulations to Head Coach, Katrina Hibbert, on developing these youngsters into a formidable team.

AGSV Representatives

The following students will represent the AGSV against the APS. And special congratulations to five of our captains who were also named as AGSV captains! This is a terrific reflection on the students who were elected to these positions and to the teachers and coaches who assisted their development over the course of the year.
