Welcome Year 7 and Year 12 students

There was a buzz around the School this morning as Year 7 and Year 12 students began a new school year. The rest of the School returns tomorrow, however our Year 7 and Year 12 students commenced their induction to get a head start on the year ahead.

For the Year 7 students this was their first day of secondary studies and for a number of students their first time at Ivanhoe Grammar School. The first day at a new school is often very daunting; however the students were given a warm welcome and will have plenty of opportunities to get to know their classmates, beginning with a barbecue lunch this afternoon. Throughout the day they will get the chance to meet their teachers, settle into their classrooms and organise their books and lockers for the year.

For the Year 12 students, this is a time to prepare for the busy year ahead and their final year of secondary studies.

This first day is a very important one for both Year 7s and Year 12s, giving them the valuable opportunity to settle into the year before other students return and 2015 classes begin tomorrow.
