The USA Basketball Tour, led by Katrina Hibbert is a sporting and sight-seeing extravaganza and the 2015 trip was no exception.
From 8 -24 December a large group of students and staff travelled throughout the USA living with host families, attending local schools and playing matches against other basketball teams giving them a unique insight into American life. They visited many cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
Not only did students get to hone their skills on the court by playing local High Schools but they also got to watch NBA games. Playing basketball in American high school’s packed-out gyms with an electric atmosphere was an experience the students will never forget.
Of course there was plenty of sightseeing and shopping to do as well with memorable visits to Alcatraz, Disneyland, Beverly Hills, NBA games and the Boeing Museum of Flight.
Thanks to Katrina Hibbert for organising the trip, Ian Anderson for coaching the Varsity Team and Ashley Wilson and Fleur Ellis for their efforts throughout the trip.
