TeachTechPlay Conference Opens

Created and organised by full-time teachers, TeachTechPlay Conference opened on Thursday 7 April at Ivanhoe Grammar School.

TeachTechPlay’s mission is to provide quality professional learning, inviting educators from around the world to share lesson ideas, resources and tools they have used successfully in their classroom.

The two day conference will focus on digital technologies and how these technologies can be harnessed to enhance teaching and learning. Keynote speakers include. Alice Keeler (USA), Mark Anderson (UK) and Ryan Trainor from Australia.

Principal of Ivanhoe Grammar School, Mr Gerard Foley welcomed delegates, encouraging teachers to think differently and challenge themselves with student learning outcomes always at the heart of their decision making.

Following on from Principal Gerard Foley’s welcome, Keynote speaker Alice Keeler officially opened the conference. Alice Keeler from the USA is a Google Certified Innovator, a Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer and the author of 50 Things You Can Do With Google Classroom.

Over the course of the conference many competitions are running, designed to utilise technology and bring teachers together. The audience was busy tweeting as Alice was speaking and it’s sure to be an interactive and digital-rich two days.

The two days will be jam-packed with innovative sessions bringing teachers from across Australia to share ideas. Ivanhoe Grammar students are also involved and are showcasing the use of digital technologies in their work. Delegates have been encouraged to share, explore and learn together over this exciting two day conference.
