Students lend their creativity to conference

Ivanhoe Grammar School is excited to be hosting the TeachTechPlay conference in the School holidays running over two days, Thursday 7 and Friday 8 April. TeachTechPlay’s mission is to provide quality professional learning, inviting educators from around the world to share lesson ideas, resources and tools they have used successfully in their classroom.

The two day conference will focus on digital technologies and how these technologies can be harnessed to enhance teaching and learning. Keynote speakers include. Alice Keeler (USA), Mark Anderson (UK) and Ryan Trainor from Australia.

In a real-life example of the use of technology in teaching, Year 7 multimedia students have been tasked with designing keepsakes for attendee’s show bags.

Using software on their laptops students have been busy creating 2D and 3D prototypes. Having a deadline and an authentic audience for this project has meant that students are receiving invaluable real-life learnings. To read more about the brief and the students’ work on Ivanhoe Learn click here
