Sports Report

Big congratulations to our Firsts Table Tennis team. The highlight of the weekend was the team making the Grand Final for the first time in a long time. They have worked very hard to get this far and will face tough competition this coming weekend. We wish them luck and congratulate them for such a great achievement of making it to the finals. Sweet victory for Year 12 student Zak in particular, who has been playing in the team since Year 6 waiting for this day to come.

Although the Girls’ Badminton team lost on the weekend, it has been a fantastic season so far, with the girls proving their mettle against many stronger schools. They have come away with three wins and three losses, which is an amazing effort given it is only their second season in the higher division. With many of our players showing such commitment to their development throughout the season, we look forward to becoming a force to be reckoned with next season.

In other news, our Boys’ Badminton team have qualified for the Grand Final against Camberwell, congratulations to the team who have worked really hard this season. Our Basketball and Tennis Teams are also through to the semi-finals and wish we them luck.

Impressively, our Volleyball Girls team have continued their unbeaten run and sit on top of the ladder, unfortunately, the Boys’ team after a strong season went down to Trinity in their semi-final alongside our Cricket Team who lost to PEGS and a loss by Yarra against Mentone meant we dropped out of the final four. Congratulations also to our Softball Team who had another good win to keep them 3rd on the ladder.

The Girls Touch Football team has continued their fantastic season and had a good win on the weekend which advanced them to the top 4 in the redraw. The team has performed so well, given this is a relatively new sport to the School and the team hasn’t been playing long together, we expect this is going to be a sport to watch next season.
