Reimagining The Arts: A Future-Focused Year 9 Program
We are excited to announce a bold new approach to The Arts and Technology electives at our Year 9 University Campus. This future-focused program is designed to inspire creativity, empower learners and connect classroom experiences with real-world opportunities.
Students will now attend their elective once a fortnight for four consecutive periods, creating an immersive workshop experience that allows for deep, hands-on learning. The courses are delivered as independent modules, with each session offering a unique workshop or experience. This flexible structure gives students greater choice and voice in their learning.
To strengthen real-world connections, the program includes partnerships with industry professionals, excursions, and artist-in-residence opportunities. Assessment has also been reimagined to focus on growth, creativity and skill development through both practical tasks and learning journals.
Behind the scenes, our staff has collaborated through writing days, shared resources to deliver high-quality teaching practices supported by the Instructional Model. This program represents a significant step toward preparing our students for a future where creativity, adaptability and innovation matter most.
We are excited to see where this new initiative leads.
