Performing Arts Concert

The Performing Arts Concert held on Wednesday 3 September at the 360 Centre, was a huge success. The evening was a celebration of the Performing Arts and a true reflection of the depth and variety of talent, as well as the increased involvement in instrumental and vocal music and dance at the Plenty Campus.

The evening began with a fanfare from the orchestra, followed by a toe tapping rendition of ‘Mancini’s Baby Elephant Walk’. A wide variety of items followed, including the Primary choir, Rhythm Grooves, Rock band and Strings.

Secondary items included the ever popular Male Choir, the A Cappella group ‘Zest!’ the String Ensemble accompanied by dancers, the Guitar Ensemble and Year 10 and Year 11 music classes. Soloists included Christian Ewings on guitar, Simon Pang and Serena Hollander on piano and VCE Music students Payel Chakraborty, Kahli Kourlinis and Lizzie Andressen.

The evening finished with a polished performance of ‘The Rhythm of Life’ from the combined Secondary Choir and Orchestra which resulted in enthusiastic applause from the four hundred plus audience.

Congratulations to all the students involved – it was a fantastic night!
