Ivanhoe Grammar School Celebrates at 2025 Board of Governors Dinner
It was a night of multiple celebrations when the Chair of Ivanhoe Grammar School, Daniel Proietto, hosted the Board of Governors Staff Dinner in recognition of another successful school year.
The night was an opportunity for staff members from all areas of the school to come together, hear some excellent music from the Ivanhoe Staff Band and reflect on the achievements of the past 12 months.
In his address, the Chair thanked the staff for their important contribution over the past 12 months, highlighting several significant academic initiatives introduced throughout the year, the progress of the Fraser Centre, which is currently under construction and the School’s lead role in a number of service projects both locally and overseas.
Retiring and long-serving staff were acknowledged for their contributions, including Con Zois, Wendy Wilkinson, Craig Caracella, Paul Walsh and Olivia Rothnie, who have given many years of excellent service to the school.
As Principal Gerard Foley noted, ‘Ivanhoe’s strength lies not only in its students and programs, but in the people who make it all possible.’ The evening was a celebration of staff, professionalism and the enduring impact of those who have shaped the School’s story.
A highlight of the night was the unveiling of the fifth Ivanhoe Grammar School Principal Portrait, with the original to sit alongside those of Buckley, Brown, Sligo and Fraser in Ivanhoe House at the Ivanhoe Campus. The Foley portrait will also take its place in Buckley Hall at the Ivanhoe Campus and in the administration area at Plenty Campus.
Gerard Foley was joined by his immediate family, along with acclaimed portrait artist Peter Smeeth, who was delighted to be part of such a special project, especially given the calibre of artists who have been commissioned by the school in the past to present principal portraits. Thank you to everyone who made the evening so special. Here’s to another year of excellence and community at Ivanhoe Grammar School.
