It’s finals time for winter sport
Congratulations to our First XI Soccer boys on making the AGSV grand final. Congratulations also to our First XI Hockey Boys on their narrow semi-final loss (3-2) to PEGS on Saturday. This team has had an outstanding season and they were unlucky to go down to a strong PEGS side.
Ivanhoe’s Boys’ soccer team will continue their run of six consecutive Grand Final appearances after defeating Trinity 3-0 in last week’s semi-final. In a game where defence held firm in the first half, Ivanhoe scored in the first 5 minutes of the second half, and then added to that total as the game unfolded. The Grand Final will be an away fixture against arch rivals PEGS on Friday, starting at 2:30pm.
With a convincing win on Saturday against Haileybury, the Netball team is well positioned to repeat its success of the last two years. Sitting on top of the ladder, the girls play a Premiership decider against 2nd placed PEGS this Saturday.
The Boys’ Hockey team went down in a thrilling semi-final game against PEGS. The boys have made tremendous improvement this season, and Mr Ed Smithers has been extremely proud of their endeavours, so high hopes for 2017!
