International Baccalaureate Awards

In recognition of outstanding achievement in the International Diploma program, Certificates of Distinction were awarded to graduates who gained an International Baccalaureate Diploma score of 40 points or more. The presentation was overseen by Ms Briony Morath, International Baccalaureate Development Manager, Australasia. Four students from Ivanhoe Grammar School, Neil Murthi, Felix Davis, Sarah Fan and Lucas Lee were recognised with awards of Distinction at the International Baccalaureate Awards ceremony.

Two students in particular shone at the awards ceremony, joint duxes of The Ridgeway Campus, Neil Murthi and Felix Davis, who achieved IB scores of 42 which equates to an ATAR of 99.25. These achievements highlight the success of the (IB DP) program at Ivanhoe Grammar School which has been running at The Ridgeway Campus since 1994.
,, Felix will be going on to study Bio-medicine at the University of Melbourne and Neil has been accepted into Philosophy, Politics and Economics with Law at the Australian National University. Lucas is in the process of applying to universities in the United States and Sarah is taking a gap year in 2014.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma embraces a global perspective and is a qualification that is recognised internationally. Students have the opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program as an alternative to the VCE.
,, The IB Diploma Program operates in more than 1800 schools around the world and provides a comprehensive educational program for motivated students. Highly regarded by both Australian and international universities, the Diploma is recognised as an excellent tertiary preparation course.

In recent times there has been rapid growth of IB Schools worldwide, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. The IB Asia Pacific region supports 600 schools offering over 800 programs in 28 countries. There are 151 IB World Schools in Australia that offer one or more of the three IB programs. Ninety one schools offer the Primary Years program, 41 schools offer the Middle Years program and 63 schools offer the Diploma program. The first school was authorised in 1978.
