High achievers in Singapore

A group of seventeen Ivanhoe Grammar School students were invited to participate in a program with Singapore Anglican High School. These students were invited to participate in the program due to their high academic results in 2014. The program commenced four years ago and the aim is to develop both a cultural understanding and to foster a collaborative way of learning that students will call upon when they join the global workforce.

Whilst in Singapore, the students worked on a collaborative project with their Singapore buddies and presented their finished projects at the Singapore Anglican High School. These long term projects began in June when students from Singapore visited Ivanhoe Grammar School.

The project fostered experience in the areas of cultural understanding and the sharing of different ways of learning, collaborative communication, teamwork and leadership and analytical thinking and problem solving.

During the trip the group also managed to fit in some sightseeing, visiting local markets, Changi Museum, Orchard Road, observing the local architecture, Merlion Park, Supertree Grove light show and skywalk as well as enjoyed a birds eye view of Singapore from the observation deck of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
