The Dedication of the Chapel of St Paul

In 2014 Ivanhoe Grammar School purchased St Paul’s Church, a disused chapel from the Anglican Diocese of Bendigo.

The Chapel was built in 1883 and comes from Mitiamo – 60kms from Bendigo. In order to prepare the church for delivery, the roof was taken off and transported separately. It has been meticulously restored to its former beauty with the internal pews and pulpit preserved and installed and all the lead light windows remaining intact throughout the journey.

On Tuesday 24 March a service of dedication was performed by the Archbishop of Melbourne and Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia; the Most Reverend Dr Philip Freier and Plenty Campus Chaplain Warwick Grant.

A number of guests travelled from Bendigo to attend the service, some whose relatives used to visit the church in its early days.

The service was followed by a morning tea where the Archbishop was thanked and Plenty Campus Captain Manny Saka presented a gift on behalf of the School.
