Café Culture Parisian High Tea

On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June, a number of Year 9 students involved in the Café Culture program designed, created and ran a High Tea experience for parents and staff.

As part of the program the students were required to work through business management techniques as well as the various elements needed to organise a high tea for paying guests. Some of the activities included throughout the program were:

  • Guest speakers from a small business

  • Marketing the event

  • Barista and tea brewing training
  • ,,

  • Menu planning, ordering and preparing food
  • ,,

  • Creating and sending invitations
  • ,,

  • Decorating the venue
  • ,,

  • Dealing with customers
  • ,,

  • Handling cash and processing cards
  • ,,

  • Clean up and evaluation
  • ,,

Between 10.00am and 12.00pm the students greeted and served the guests, took orders and prepared food and proved to be excellent and welcoming hosts.

This was the first time the program has been conducted and it was wonderful to see the students supported by parents and staff.
