Buckley House Athletics Carnival

The sun was shining, spirits were high, and the Collingwood Athletics track came alive with boundless energy as students of Buckley House gathered for a day of competition and camaraderie at the highly anticipated Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 9 August. The atmosphere was electric as the students, who had dedicated themselves to rigorous training this term, rolled up in their buses and showcased their talents and determination across many events.

Representing their respective houses – Athelstane, Lincoln, Sherwood and Thoresby – students demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and sportsmanship, pushing themselves beyond their limits and surpassing their personal bests. It was evident that countless hours of preparation, training and hard work had paid off as each event unfolded.

The warm sun served as the perfect backdrop for the day’s events, creating an ideal setting for both participants and the proud parents who gathered to watch and cheer on their children. The sidelines were adorned with colourful banners, and the air resonated with cheers and applause, turning the Athletics Carnival into an arena of support and encouragement.

After a day filled with breathtaking displays of athleticism and the breaking of quite a few school records, the moment arrived to crown the victors. In a thrilling finale, the coveted title of the winning house was claimed by Athelstane. Sherwood, Lincoln, and Thoresby showcased outstanding sportsmanship and tenacity, making every event a memorable one, so well done to all houses and students for their excellent participation.

Finally, the success of the day would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our incredible teachers. Their unwavering support ensured that the Athletics Carnival ran smoothly, providing students with an unforgettable experience. Thanks again to the parents who joined us, cheering on their children and adding to the festive atmosphere.

On the horizon, we eagerly anticipate witnessing some of our exceptional competitors continue their journey in pursuit of even greater achievements. The Buckley House Athletics Carnival was a celebration of resilience, unity, and the pursuit of personal bests.
