Another string in our bow!

On Tuesday 4 November, Locksley Choir, Band and Strings departed Melbourne for a music tour of Queensland.

On Wednesday morning the group travelled by coach to West Moreton Anglican College where the three Ivanhoe ensembles joined with students from the College for some special musical performances.

On Thursday the group visited Brisbane Grammar School where they were treated to a master class with Head of Strings at the school, Stephen Chin. The Locksley Symphonic Band also participated in a workshop with Jim Noble, Head of Brass at Brisbane Grammar School, where his work with the Locksley Symphonic Band repertoire was similarly inspiring for our students.

As part of the Queensland tour, Ivanhoe Grammar School students performed at a number of aged care centres, which proved to be a rewarding experience. The residents of Sandgate Masonic Care Centre and Arundel Masonic Care Centre were very grateful for the performances and brightened their day.

The Locksley Queensland Tour provided the students with an enriching musical experience in a nurturing environment for students to develop and refine their musical abilities.
