AGSV Junior Swimming Championships

It was a big weekend of sport, and not just for our secondary students. On the evening of Friday 26 March, our primary students from Buckley House and Plenty Campus represented Ivanhoe Grammar School at the Junior AGSV Swimming Championships.

Without a doubt, sporting highlights for primary students at Buckley House and Plenty Campus is the chance to represent the School in a cross campus team, such as cross country, athletics and swimming.

The Junior AGSV Swimming Championships was held at MSAC on Friday night. The team consisted of experienced competition swimmers, right through to students making their cross campus debuts.

With many of the students competing for the School for the first time ever, or for the first time in over a year, spirits and excitement levels were at an all time high. Add to this the fact that limited crowds and parent spectators were reintroduced for this event and the experience was a brilliant one from a student and crowd perspective.

There were many personal bests across the board. Our less experienced swimmers soaked up the atmosphere and performed with commitment and courage. Many wins and placings were recorded throughout the meet in both individual and relay events and we congratulate those who fit into this category as well as all who competed on the day and represented this cross campus team with pride.
There is no doubt this has wet the appetite of students involved to put themselves forward for possible cross country and athletics selection in the Ivanhoe Grammar School cross campus team later in the year.

Congratulations again, to all involved!
