AFL Women’s Draft

PE Teacher and Coach, Christina Bernadi has been drafted by Collingwood for the inaugural 2017 season. This is a momentous achievement as Christina has been drafted into the first ever Womens’ AFL league.

This is a great achievement by Christina as she only began playing Australian Rules when she was at University. In that short time, Christina has required significant surgery on her knee and hip, so to be drafted is a magnificent achievement and testament to her drive and determination.

Since starting at Ivanhoe Grammar School, Christina Bernadi has taught Physical Education, coached the Girls’ AFL Football Team and the Inters Basketball Team.

Christina has put in an enormous amount of work in the past year getting the girls’ football program off the ground and is a terrific role model to the young women of our school. This achievement will only serve to enforce that.
