2023 Graduate Art & Design Exhibition

Congratulations to all our Year 12 Art and Design students, for a spectacular exhibition this year. The exhibition was held throughout the Visual Arts spaces in Locksley through to our Ping Pong Gallery, where studios were filled with a wide variety of works from the subject disciplines of Art Making and Exhibiting, IB Visual Arts, Media Studies, Product Design and Technology and Visual Communication Design.

The opening night was a tremendous success with a celebratory atmosphere as we all stopped to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the class of 2023. Staff and students were overwhelmed with gratitude for the huge turnout of guests, including family and friends.

The opening night included the announcement of significant art and design awards. This year the Randal Marsh Awards were judged by Robert Buckingham (class of 1977) and Georgie and Alex Clearly of Alpha60.

We were fortunate enough to have Tim Sligo, the Executive Director of Heide Museum of Modern Art and son of former school principal Reverend Charles Sligo attend our celebrations. Tim was impressed with the diversity and quality of the work on display and heartened to hear the importance IGS places on creativity and fostering the arts. He was thrilled to have a walk down memory lane and to see the state-of-the-art new buildings.

We are pleased to announce the following prestigious award winners:

The Principal’s Award – Isabel for her oil painting title ‘Flora’ completed during her IB Visual Arts Course.
