2014 Australian Canoeing Awards

The annual Australian Canoeing Awards dinner was held in Sydney on Saturday 25 October with Ivanhoe Grammar School staff receiving two awards.

David Gibbs received an award for ‘Services to Canoeing’. Mr Gibbs has more than twenty year’s commitment to the School kayak team. In this time he has helped to grow the sport at the School by introducing new paddlers to the sport and provided them with the necessary experience to become the best. He has led the School though many national and state school championships and encourages the team to push themselves but most importantly to do their best.

In addition, Ordette Webster received an ‘Award of Merit’ for her role on the organising committee of the 2014 ICF Junior and Under 23 World Championships which were held in Penrith during April.

Ivanhoe Grammar School is incredibly fortunate to have two very dedicated and passionate staff leading the kayaking program and with staff of this calibre, it is not surprising that we continue to be the leading kayaking school in Australia.

Congratulations to David and Ordette!
