Ethical, Safe and Sustainable Learning
Aligning with our broader learning culture.
Ethical use of AI at Ivanhoe Grammar School begins with our leaders, teachers and professional service staff. Integrity and transparency are at the core of our learning approach. Being clear on what is ethical, safe and sustainable AI use, and modelling such behaviour is the foundation of our School’s learning environment and culture of character.
Ethical, safe and sustainable learning with AI includes:
- respecting the artistry and ownership of people’s work
- attributing and referencing ownership of content and creative outputs
- acknowledging the use of AI
- understanding and following the requirements of copyright laws
- awareness of personal safety and disclosure risks
- respecting the privacy of others
- being conscious of the environmental impact when using AI and focusing on reducing the ecological footprint of AI through effective prompting.
These practices and expectations are aligned with our broader learning culture, and in situations where AI is not relevant or present.
