Student Creativity Recognised at Top Designs 2026

Two students from the Class of 2025 are being celebrated for their outstanding creative achievements, with two works selected for Top Designs 2026, the annual exhibition recognising exceptional VCE design and media work.

Miria Teh has been selected for Top Designs 2026 for her VCE Media work, The Toymaker. Miria’s work is an original graphic novel that reimagines the “toymaker” as a former weaponsmith who confronts the harm his creations once caused. Through a clear three-act structure, minimal dialogue, and a strong visual language, the story uses a striking shift from black-and-white to colour to symbolise his transformation from conflict to creation.

Marley Cox’s Visual Communication Design SAT folio focuses on developing a surf-inspired brand and a functional, sustainable dry bag for an environmentally conscious client from Ocean Grove. The folio documents the full design process, including research, ideation, concepts and refinement, along with the application of branding to several products and a high-fidelity prototype of the bag.

Top Designs is part of the VCE Season of Excellence and is highly competitive. This year, over 1,000 applications were submitted statewide, with just 81 works selected. Miria and Marley’s inclusion places them among the very best students in Victoria and is a significant achievement for them and the school.
