Mother’s Day

Many of Ivanhoe’s Parent Support groups got behind the day by providing items for students and staff to purchase and at the same time raising money for special causes.

Every year the Ladies Association hold a fabulous lunch which brings together many mothers from the Ivanhoe Community, this year the lunch was held at Va Tutto in Ivanhoe on Wednesday 4 May.

Some of the activities at School included a Plant Stall run by the Environment and Sustainability Group that sold lots of great plants, including some ‘Lone Pine’ Rosemary, flowering plants, herbs and succulents on Thursday and Friday with all proceeds are going to the The Worldwide Fund for Nature.

Friends of Buckley House also held their annual stall with an amazing array of gifts donated from the Ivanhoe community. Many excited primary students came along to get a gift with their very own designed paper bags.

At Plenty Campus a special Mother’s Day Breakfast was held in the Founders’ Centre with many students bringing in mothers, grandmothers and the special mother figures in their lives. A stall was also held in the Courtyard outside the Founders’ Centre

Mother’s Day is celebrated by showing appreciation of mothers and mother figures. It is annually observed on the second Sunday of May.
