Melbourne Vixens New Recruit

Year 12 student and Firsts netballer Alice, has been offered a contract to play for the Melbourne Vixens.

Alice has been touted as one of Victoria’s brightest shooting prospects as well as one of the youngest signings for the Vixens since the trans-Tasman ANZ Championships began in 2008.

Alice predominantly plays the position of goal attack and has been rewarded for her consistency and dedication to the game and was endorsed as a future Vixen when she was called up to the squad for four games this year to replace injured Vixen Erin Hoare.

Being selected to play for the high profile team is a fantastic achievement, “I’ve always wished to play ANZ (Championship), but it’s kind of surreal that’s it’s actually happened,’’ Alice says. Admitting that she had not expected to secure a trans-Tasman contract so soon, stating that “I never expected to get an ANZ contract this young. So, I’m certainly happy.’’

Having a positive mindset and a willingness to learn from the team is sure to stand Alice in good stead when she commences with the team next season. “To be joining the team that won the grand final and obviously all the players are amazing athletes, I can’t wait to train and play with them and learn as much as I can.’’
