Matthew Signorello

In the AFL draft last Friday 25 November, Year 12 student, Matthew Signorello was selected by the Adelaide Crows with their 62nd selection.

Matthew had an outstanding year for Ivanhoe, winning the inaugural David O’Halloran Trophy for the best player in the First XVIII. The inaugural David O’Halloran Award was presented to Year 12 Student, Matthew Signorello at the Winter Sport Awards Assembly earlier this year.

This special Award was announced at last year’s Teams of the Centenary event to honour David, an old boy from the Class of 1973 who passed away in 2013. David captained the First XVIII and after leaving Ivanhoe Grammar School he played for Hawthorn Football Club, winning two Premierships in 1976 and 1983.

Everyone at Ivanhoe wishes Matthew all the best with his football in the ensuing years.
