Ivanhoe’s Got Talent

On Thursday 26 of May, students involved with the 2016 June-July Cambodian Service project hosted this year’s Ivanhoe’s Got Talent competition. The night was a huge success with 12 amazing acts from the students from Years 7 to 12. There was a variety of talent on display, including contemporary songs, jazz and soulful duets to light hearted sketch comedy and dazzling feats of magic.

The panel of judges was as impressed as the audience and had a tough time selecting the winners. First prize was awarded to Year 9 student, Nicola for her dazzling magic display with second place being awarded to Year 11 student, Jason Sortino and Year 12 student, Jezebel Karalis for their heartfelt duet. Third place proved too challenging and a tie for third was declared between Year 7 students, Thomas Larkin and Laramae Aouad.

All funds raised from the evening along with the proceeds of the silent auction from the night will go towards programs with the School’s partner organisations in Cambodia. Students will visit and work with these organisations during their service trip in the Term 3 holidays.
