Friends of Snowsports

Ivanhoe Grammar School has an active community of parents who volunteer their time, energy and expertise to different areas of the School. They are a valued and vital part of life at Ivanhoe.

Friends of Snowsports is a parent group associated with the School’s Co-Curricular Snowsports Program. It provides a network of support throughout the Snowsports season to parents, students and staff both on and off the mountain during training, competition, events and fundraising.  Our group is made up of likeminded snow fanatics who over many years have formed wonderful friendships.

Snowsports team members are provided with many opportunities to train during the last week of the winter holidays along with a weekend training session including the important time trial weekend at Mt Buller.  All are encouraged to participate, extend their competition experience, and enter teams into the various disciplines available in the Victorian Interschools Competition in August at Mt Buller and into the Australian Championships at Mt Buller or NSW in September.

You do not need to be an expert skier/snowboarder or cross-country skier as the level of competition is aimed at every standard of participant from novice to expert racer. The Victorian Interschool Competition includes a wide variety of participants in both ability and age. This is a team activity, and each participant is important regardless of level or ability.

We welcome new members across all disciplines Cross Country, Skiing, Snowboarding and across all ages from Foundation to Year 12, you just need to love Snowsports.

If you have are interested in joining the Snowsports program and would like further details, please feel free to get in contact with us.

Expression Of Interest for the 2021 Snowsports Team closes on Monday 1 March 2021.
