2025 Years 7-11 Art & Design Exhibition

At the close of Term 3, ArtsEdge at Locksley was transformed into a dynamic exhibition space, showcasing the creativity and talent of our students. The Years 7-11 Art and Design Exhibition officially opened on Wednesday, 10 September, featuring a diverse array of innovative and captivating works from the fields of Art, Media, Product Design and Technology, and Visual Communication Design.

The event was opened by Belinda Fox, a multidisciplinary artist working across printmaking, painting, ceramics, and sculpture. She forged has an international career, exhibiting in Australia, the USA, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, and Jakarta. Her work has earned several notable awards, including the 2022 Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Award (Paper Category). Her pieces are held in major collections such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Gallery of Victoria, National Gallery of Australia, Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Queensland University of Technology Art Museum, Artbank, Fremantle Arts Centre, Print Council of Australia, Swan Hill Regional Gallery, and the University of Wollongong. Belinda has conducted workshops with our Year 9 students and, more recently, with our Year 10 and 11 students. We were incredibly grateful for Belinda’s work with our students and the ongoing support she provides to our Art and Design program here at Ivanhoe. This is especially evident in her generosity in donating one of her artworks—valued at $2,000—that was raffled, with all proceeds going towards funding our next Artist in Residence program. The winner of the raffle was drawn on Friday 19 September and was won by Sophie McLaughlin, Deputy Head of House (Thoresby).

Year 10 student Riley, was the proud recipient of the Old Ivanhoe Grammarians’ Association encouragement award in Arts. This award was presented to Riley by Mirella Busso-Lee, Alumni Coordinator on behalf of the Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Association.
