Year 12 Art and Design Graduate Show

On the evening of Wednesday 5 October, the exhibition and studio spaces were filled with colour, design and energy as guests joined students and staff at the official opening of the 2016 Year 12 Graduate Art & Design Graduate Show.

The evening celebrated the creative talents of the Year 12 students working in Studio Arts, IB Visual Arts, Product Design Technology and Visual Communication Design.

The exhibition was officially opened by Randal Marsh (Class of 1977) an award winning architect whose firm, Wood Marsh Architecture, has been recognised both nationally and internationally. Randal spoke of his time at Ivanhoe Grammar School noting how much the building and facilities had changed, resulting in beautiful contemporary studio spaces for students to work in.

During the evening the winners of the Randal Marsh Award and the Acquisition Award were announced. Deputy Principal/ Head of The Ridgeway Campus, Mr Brenden Kelly announced the Centenary Product Design and Technology Award which is now in its second year.

These awards are the most prestigious artistic prizes awarded by the School as a way of encouraging and developing student talent in Art and Design at Ivanhoe Grammar School.

Randal Marsh 2nd place Award – Harrison Minuzzo and Johanna Gibbs

Randal Marsh Acquisition Award – Tom Crawford

Centenary Product Design and Technology Award – Cameron Elliot

Congratulations to the staff who worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the event to ensure that the exhibition was wonderful success.
