On Thursday 1 August, 30 primary girls competed at the State AeroSchools Championships held at Community Bank Stadium in Diamond Creek. This event was the culmination of a year of intensive training with the girls training since February to perfect their routines. The competitors were in a mixture of pairs, trios and groups and performed their routines to music in front of a big panel of state judges.
The girls all performed wonderfully on the day and it was even more satisfying to see the way they supported each other before, during and after each performance. We won four different divisions and placed on many occasions. Five of our pairs/trios even placed in the Top 8 to earn a qualification for the National AeroSchools championships at the Gold Coast in September. Not all the girls will be travelling to the Gold Coast but we wish Jayla and Jessica, as well as Maisie, Emily and Ella the best of luck for the competition in Queensland.
We thank the organisers and coaches who put so much time and effort into making this sport possible at Buckley House. Our team is always superbly coached and prepared by wonderful alumni coaches and this year was no different. Thank you to Amelia, Georgia, Audrey and Alice from MGS for all their hard work and organisation over the year.
