Performing and Creative Arts

Performing Arts

All students are encouraged to participate in the Performing Arts program. Tuition is available to all students on a wide range of instruments as well as dance and music theory.

There is ample opportunity for students to develop their performance skills at both formal and soiree music concerts and drama productions throughout the year. Students can join a range of musical ensembles including choirs, string ensembles, orchestras and jazz ensembles. There are soirees, recitals, drama productions, the Piano and Soloists’ competition, the More Than Words concert for vocalists, the Plenty Campus Performing Arts Concert, a Theatre Production and the whole school Gala Concert held every two years at Hamer Hall.

Each campus presents an annual Musical Production and students from Years 7 to 12 have the opportunity to be involved. This includes roles on stage as well as in the orchestra and backstage with sound, lighting, set construction, make up and costumes.

The School’s musicians have the opportunity to participate in ensemble tours and music rehearsal camps and students are also encouraged to participate in performance opportunities in the local and wider community.

Creative Arts

Our Creative Arts program offers a wide range of disciplines, supported by specialist teachers and dynamic learning spaces. Students can explore mediums including painting, drawing, visual communication and design, woodwork, fashion and textiles, photography and furniture design.

The Visual Art & Design Exhibitions held annually at each campus are a great display of the creativity of our students and dedication of our Creative Arts teachers. Students from Years 7 to 12 exhibit artwork in the Exhibition and the prestigious Randall Marsh Art & Design Award and School Acquisition Award are presented. Student artwork is also regularly displayed around the School. Students also have the opportunity to have their artwork used in school publications and promotional materials.
