Year 5 Environmental Exhibition

21 Jul 2010

On Wednesday 21 July, the Year 5 classes at Buckley House held an Environmental Exhibition. Within their groups, students showcased the environmental action they would like to see supported by the School. There were flyers, posters, petitions, cards, displays and electronic presentations - all showing the passion and enthusiasm the students had put into their work. Some of the issues covered were global warming, the plight of the orang utans, animal poaching, palm oil production and pollution.

Once the displays were set up, every Buckley House class was invited one by one to visit and admire and learn from the displays. Each class will now vote on the environmental action they feel the School should support. Once the votes have been collected, the winner will be announced and the Student Representative Council will implement that action.

There was an amazing buzz in the room as the Year 5 students introduced the visiting classes to their work and worked to explain why their environmental action was the most deserving.

All Year 5 students deserve recognition for the wonderful exhibition and we look forward to hearing which environmental action will be supported.
